Instead of us hosting the Carnival Of Personal Camaraderie this week we were happy to pass it on to someone who has helped us out a tremendous amount over the past few months. When we started out back in March we were a small blip on the radar but anytime we had questions this website was quick to answer. Boomer and Echo is one of our favourite Canadian personal finance sites. They write from the unique perspective of a modern day Baby Boomer and her son, the Generational Y Echo. Their posts are always informative and they help me out since I am in my 20′s and want to start investing early on to ensure a comfortable retirement. Here are some of my favorite posts The Cost Of Starting A Franchise If A Disaster Strikes – How Prepared Are You? How I Saved Over $300 On My Cable And Internet Bills Canadian Chequing Account Comparison When Interest Rates Are Low Should You Pay Off Debt Or Invest? Here are their most popular posts Redeeming Your Aeroplan Miles How I Redeem My Air Miles Rewards Best Air Miles Rewards Pay Off Credit Card Balance Immediately Or Wait For Grace Period? How Many Clothes Do You Need Anyway? Beyond their own site Echo writes on other successful finance sites and has become an extremely well known author in a very short period of time. I’m sure that sites like the Canadian Finance Blog and MoneyVille appreciate having him on board. Boomer and Echo are a cornerstone in the Canadian finance world and we are happy to count them foremost among our blogging inner circle. Visit their site to see this weeks carnival.

We are proud to announce that we will be hosting our very own carnival here at My University Money. We’ve been talking about doing it for quite some time now, and we hope to have a good response. We are lucky to have a great community of financial bloggers to get ideas from, and this was one that surfaced to the top. The carnival is called the Carnival of Financial Camaraderie. We’re going to try and publish this carnival weekly and we’re going to aim to post it every Saturday. So when submitting, just have it in by Friday evening, if you’re late we’ll just include you in the next go around. This will probably be the last issue of “What Other Bloggers Are Saying” so I hoped everyone enjoyed it. Well we finally did it, we broke the famous 200,000 in alexa rank and we are rolling towards the finish line for the Yakezie Challenge! As Teacher Man wrote earlier this week, we have posted our 100th article and we plan to keep on trucking towards the new year. We kinda dropped the ball on the scholarship contest, but we didn’t forget about it and we’re going to be posting the results next week hopefully. In other news, the Saskatchewan Roughriders stomped all over the Winnipeg Blue bombers last Sunday and since I’m from Manitoba, but living in Saskatchewan, I don’t hear the end of it. Other than that, I can’t really complain, I’m glad September is starting to feel like fall instead of the +30 temperatures we had last weekend.
